AZ Entrepreneurship Conference – 2007 online!

The AZ Entrepreneurship Conference 2007 is now online! The excitement of putting all the event presentations online using our workflow and technology really made me proud of the things we’re accomplishing at Essential Event Technologies. The event was held on Nov 8th in Phoenix, AZ and attracted a few hundred attendees. I, unfortunately, was unable to attend. But EET generously offered to sponsor the online conference archives for the event. And that has made all the difference. That is exactly why I love doing this work. I now have not only the ability, but the convenience of watching a high-quality reproduction of the presentations that were given. I had a great seat at my workstation, where I could see Marc Canter’s entertaining talk about being a visionary in the tech world, Michael Gerber’s motivating stories about getting out there a making your dreams happen. I don’t think there are many other services or companies out there using the technology the way we are to bring conferences and events directly and conveniently to the people who aren’t able to attend them.

Grab pixel colors and hex values from your desktop

In the past, my labor intensive method for grabbing pixel color hex values off my desktop was the traditional:

  1. prt scrn (save the desktop to the clipboard)
  2. fire up photoshop and Ctrl+V paste the big image
  3. zoom in and click the eyedropper to figure out the hex values

There was a tool I used to use that ran a small executable that would show some info about the pixel under your mouse position.  It had some drawbacks, in that you still had to take out a pen and paper to write down the hex values – unless you have a better memory that I do, which you probably do.

I just found this nifty little tool called the ColorSchemer ColorPix that has pretty much the features that I’m looking for.  Should work great!

Arizona Entrepreneurship Conference 2007

Stealthmode Partners held the AZ Entrepreneurship Conference on Nov 8 in Phoenix. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend, but that’s the beauty of what Essential Event Technologies is doing. I can now go and attend the entire conference virtually. I can watch all the presentations at my convenience and take some notes, do a little cross-referencing, especially when there’s a ton a name-dropping going on. I really enjoyed Marc Canter’s presentation because of it’s “in your face” realism and his way of speaking adds to the entertainment value. This event was developed using the tools and workflows around windows media player, and hopefully it will get converted to our flash platform soon.
